It is used for exchanging electronic files including images, documents, and web pages. PDF file preserves the format of the document making them more shareable and ensuring that they look the same on every device including laptops, smartphones, and tablets. Among many PDF readers, <\/strong>Foxit reader is a popular PDF Reader that lets you create, read, print, sign, and distribute PDF files irrespective of where you are or what device you are using.<\/p>\n<p>In this post, we will install Foxit reader on the CentOS system.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Note:<\/strong> The methods described here have been tested on <strong>CentOS 8 <\/strong>system.<\/p>\n<h2>Installing Foxit Reader on CentOS<\/h2>\n<p>On CentOS, the Foxit PDF Reader can be installed using the package available at the Foxit website. Follow the steps below for the installation of Foxit PDF Reader:<\/p>\n<h3>Step 1: Downloading Foxit<\/h3>\n<p>To download Foxit PDF Reader, you can go to the Foxit PDF Reader <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxit.com\/pdf-reader\/\">Downloads<\/a> page and download Foxit PDF Reader (32-bit or 64-bit) for your CentOS system.<\/p>\n<p>Alternatively, you can download Foxit PDF Reader using the commands below:<\/p>\n<p>If your CentOS system is <strong>32-bit<\/strong>, then use the command below to download Foxit Reader <strong>32-bit<\/strong> setup:<\/p>\n<pre>$ wget https:\/\/cdn01.foxitsoftware.com\/pub\/foxit\/reader\/desktop\/linux\/2.x\/2.4\/en_us\/FoxitReader.enu.setup.2.4.4.0910.x86.run.tar.gz<\/pre>\n<p>If your CentOS system is <strong>64-bit<\/strong>, then use the command below to download Foxit Reader <strong>64-bit<\/strong> setup:<\/p>\n<pre>$ wget https:\/\/cdn01.foxitsoftware.com\/pub\/foxit\/reader\/desktop\/linux\/2.x\/2.4\/en_us\/FoxitReader.enu.setup.2.4.4.0911.x64.run.tar.gz<\/pre>\n<p>The downloaded file will be an archive file ending with the<strong> tar.gz<\/strong> extension.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1115\" height=\"302\" class=\"wp-image-11757\" src=\"http:\/\/linuxways.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/word-image-10.png\" srcset=\"https:\/\/linuxways.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/word-image-10.png 1115w, https:\/\/linuxways.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/word-image-10-300x81.png 300w, https:\/\/linuxways.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/word-image-10-1024x277.png 1024w, https:\/\/linuxways.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/word-image-10-768x208.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1115px) 100vw, 1115px\" \/><\/p>\n<h3>Step 2: Extracting Archive<\/h3>\n<p>You will need to extract the downloaded archive file. Use the command below to do this:<\/p>\n<p>For <strong>32-bit<\/strong> CentOS:<\/p>\n<pre>$ tar -xvf FoxitReader.enu.setup.2.4.4.0910.x86.run.tar.gz<\/pre>\n<p>For <strong>64-bit<\/strong> CentOS:<\/p>\n<pre>$ tar -xvf FoxitReader.enu.setup.2.4.4.0911.x64.run.tar.gz<\/pre>\n<p>If your downloaded Foxit Reader version number is different, make sure to replace it in the above commands.<\/p>\n<p>After extraction, you will find the extracted file <strong>FoxitReader.enu.setup.2.4.4.0911.x64.run<\/strong> in the same directory containing the archive file.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"766\" height=\"50\" class=\"wp-image-11758\" src=\"http:\/\/linuxways.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/word-image-12.png\" srcset=\"https:\/\/linuxways.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/word-image-12.png 766w, https:\/\/linuxways.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/word-image-12-300x20.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 766px) 100vw, 766px\" \/><\/p>\n<h3>Step 3: Installing Foxit Reader<\/h3>\n<p>Now you can install the Foxit PDF Reader using the <strong>.run<\/strong> file you extracted in the step 2. Use the command below to install Foxit PDF Reader:<\/p>\n<p>For <strong>32-bit<\/strong> CentOS:<\/p>\n<pre>$ .\/FoxitReader.enu.setup.2.4.4.0910.x86.run<\/pre>\n<p>For <strong>64-bit<\/strong> CentOS:<\/p>\n<pre>$ .\/FoxitReader.enu.setup.2.4.4.0911.x64.run<\/pre>\n<p>After running the command, the installation wizard will be started. The following window is showing you the location where Foxit Reader is going to be installed. It is also showing the location where Foxit Reader has been installed. You can use the command below to do so:<\/p>\n<pre>$ cd ~\/opt\/foxitsoftware\/foxitreader\/<\/pre>\n<p>Now you can uninstall Foxit Reader using the <strong>maintenancetool<\/strong> script located in this directory. Use the command below to do so:<\/p>\n<pre>$ .\/maintenancetool<\/pre>\n<p>Then the below window will appear.
