Some of the widely used email clients include Thunderbird, Evolution, and KMail. Geary is another handy and easy-to-use email client that lets you conveniently set up your email account. It is completely free and open-source is currently developed and maintained by the GNOME project.<\/p>\n<p>Before we dive in and install Geary, here are some of the prominent features provided by the email client.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Support for a wide range of email providers such as Gmail, Yahoo, and Outlook.com, and other IMAP servers including Zimbra and Dovecot.<\/li>\n<li>Modern, neat, and user-friendly interface that is easy to navigate.<\/li>\n<li>Fully-featured HTML mail composer.<\/li>\n<li>Desktop notification for new emails.<\/li>\n<li>Provides a conversation view of emails.<\/li>\n<li>Supports the ability to answer directly in conversations or in a separate window.<\/li>\n<li>Supports the creation of a custom signature.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Without much further ado, let get our hands dirty and start the installation of Geary.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Step 1: Installing Geary email client<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Geary is quite easy to install and configure. To start off, refresh the package lists as follows.<\/p>\n<pre><strong>$ sudo apt update<\/strong><\/pre>\n<p><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"762\" height=\"290\" class=\"wp-image-12972\" src=\"http:\/\/linuxways.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/word-image-249.png\" srcset=\"https:\/\/linuxways.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/word-image-249.png 762w, https:\/\/linuxways.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/word-image-249-300x114.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 762px) 100vw, 762px\" \/><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Once done, install Geary email client as follows:<\/p>\n<pre><strong>$ sudo apt install geary<\/strong><\/pre>\n<p>This install Geary alongside other new packages and dependencies that will be required by Geary.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"760\" height=\"271\" class=\"wp-image-12973\" src=\"http:\/\/linuxways.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/word-image-250.png\" srcset=\"https:\/\/linuxways.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/word-image-250.png 760w, https:\/\/linuxways.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/word-image-250-300x107.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 760px) 100vw, 760px\" \/><\/p>\n<h2><strong>Step 2: Launch and configure Geary email client<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Once installed, launch Geary by clicking on the \u2018<strong>Activities<\/strong>\u2019 tab and searching for Geary as shown. From here, you can begin managing your email conversations.
