Microsoft Teams has a free version that is sufficient for individuals, while a premium version is available for business enterprises.<\/p>\n

Let us now check out how you can install Microsoft teams on Debian 11. There are two avenues to achieve this. You can use the APT package manager or install from snap packages<\/p>\n

Step 1: Update Debian 11 package list<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Right of the bat, start by updating your system\u2019s repositories and package lists.<\/p>\n

$ sudo apt update<\/strong><\/pre>\n
With the repositories and package index up to date, proceed to the next step.<\/p>\n
Step 2: Add Microsoft Teams Repository<\/strong><\/h2>\n
Microsoft teams is not included in the default Debian 11 repository First, import the GPG key as follows:<\/p>\n
$ curl https:\/\/packages.microsoft.com\/keys\/microsoft.asc | sudo apt-key add -<\/strong><\/pre>\n
Next, add the Microsoft Teams repository using the following command.<\/p>\n

Update your packages for changes to take effect.<\/p>\n
$ sudo apt update<\/strong><\/pre>\n
This will sync with the newly added Microsoft Teams repository.<\/p>\n
Step 3: Install Microsoft teams<\/strong><\/h2>\n
To Install Teams use the APT package manager as follows.<\/p>\n
$ sudo apt install teams<\/strong><\/pre>\n
Verify the installation of teams with the command:<\/p>\n
$ apt-cache policy teams<\/strong><\/pre>\n
<\/strong><\/p>\n
The output informs us the \u2018Teams\u2019 package has been installed<\/p>\n
Step 4: Launch Microsoft Teams<\/strong><\/h2>\n
You can launch teams using the command line with the command:<\/p>\n
$ teams<\/strong><\/pre>\n
Alternatively, search for teams in the activities bar<\/p>\n

The following screen will be displayed. Click on Get Started to proceed. Create an account and login to use Microsoft Teams.<\/p>\n

Option 2: Install teams using snap<\/strong><\/h2>\n
Microsoft teams is available as a snap package. If you don’t have snapd installed, run:<\/p>\n

To install teams using snapd, run:<\/p>\n
$ sudo snap install teams-for-linux<\/strong><\/pre>\n
