Do you want them to know why you are busy or unavailable by displaying a short message? Similar to other <a href=\"https:\/\/linuxways.net\/de\/centos\/top-5-collaboration-tools-2021\/\">team collaboration apps<\/a>, Microsoft Teams lets you display your current status so that other users know about your availability. You can show your current status by displaying a little icon on your profile picture and by displaying a short message.<\/p>\n<p>In today\u2019s post, we will be explaining how to change the status on Microsoft Teams. If you do not have Microsoft Teams on your Linux system, you can visit our post on how to install Microsoft Teams on <a href=\"https:\/\/linuxways.net\/de\/ubuntu\/how-to-install-microsoft-teams-on-ubuntu-20-04-lts\/\">Ubuntu<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/linuxways.net\/de\/debian\/install-microsoft-teams-on-debian-11-bullseye\/\">Debian<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/linuxways.net\/de\/opensuse\/how-to-install-microsoft-teams-on-opensuse\/\">openSUSE<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/linuxways.net\/de\/centos\/how-to-install-microsoft-teams-on-centos\/\">CentOS<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Note<\/strong>: The steps outlined here are focused on Linux distribution Ubuntu, but you can follow the same steps if you&#8217;re using Microsoft Teams on another OS platform.<\/p>\n<h2>Changing Status on Microsoft Teams<\/h2>\n<p>Follow the steps outlined below in order to change the status on Microsoft Teams.<\/p>\n<p>In the upper right corner of Microsoft Teams, click your profile photo.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"801\" height=\"498\" class=\"wp-image-15232\" src=\"http:\/\/linuxways.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/word-image-426.png\" srcset=\"https:\/\/linuxways.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/word-image-426.png 801w, https:\/\/linuxways.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/word-image-426-300x187.png 300w, https:\/\/linuxways.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/word-image-426-768x477.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 801px) 100vw, 801px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;ll bring up a small window. Type your status in the text area. Using this menu, you can choose when to clear the status message. From the list, you can pick the below status options:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Available<\/strong>: when you\u2019re signed in on Microsoft Teams but do not have any meeting scheduled. If you lock your system or if it goes into sleep mode, the status will be automatically changed to <strong>Away<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Busy:<\/strong> when you want to concentrate on something but do not want to be disturbed by notifications. If you are in a <a href=\"https:\/\/linuxways.net\/de\/centos\/how-to-create-a-meeting-in-microsoft-teams\/\">meeting<\/a> and have not manually set the status to <strong>Do not disturb<\/strong>, your status will be automatically changed to busy.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Do not disturb<\/strong>: when you are online but do not want to be disturbed by notifications.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Be right back<\/strong>: when you want to stay away for a while.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Appear away:<\/strong> when you are working and do not want to respond instantly.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Appear offline<\/strong>: when you are working but want to appear as offline.
