It allows you to query, visualize and monitor your data from different sources into customized dashboards and graphs. It also allows you to share your dashboard with other team members. Grafana supports a wide range of data sources, commonly referred to as databases such as <a href=\"https:\/\/linuxways.net\/de\/ubuntu\/how-to-install-prometheus-monitoring-tool-on-ubuntu-20-04\/\">Prometheus<\/a>, InfluxDB, Loki, Graphite, <a href=\"https:\/\/linuxways.net\/de\/centos\/how-to-install-elasticsearch-on-centos-8\/\">Elasticsearch<\/a>, Jaeger, etc.<\/p>\n<p>In this article, we will cover how to install Grafana on openSUSE in two different ways.<\/p>\n<h2>Method#1 Installing Grafana from openSUSE Repositories<\/h2>\n<p>Grafana is available in the repositories of openSUSE. This method describes installing Grafana from the openSUSE repositories. Here are the steps you need to follow for the installation of Grafana on openSUSE:<\/p>\n<p>1. Run the below command in order to refresh the packages contained in the configured repositories:<\/p>\n<pre>$ sudo zypper refresh<\/pre>\n<p>2. Then in order to install Grafana, run this command:<\/p>\n<pre>$ sudo zypper install grafana<\/pre>\n<p>It will show the download size of the Grafana package and the disk space that will be occupied after the installation. Then it will ask if you wish to proceed with the operation. Press <strong>y<\/strong> and then <strong>Enter<\/strong> to install Grafana on your openSUSE system.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"801\" height=\"468\" class=\"wp-image-16444\" src=\"http:\/\/linuxways.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/word-image.png\" srcset=\"https:\/\/linuxways.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/word-image.png 801w, https:\/\/linuxways.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/word-image-300x175.png 300w, https:\/\/linuxways.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/word-image-768x449.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 801px) 100vw, 801px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>3. This method describes installing Grafana manually using the package available on the <a href=\"https:\/\/grafana.com\/grafana\/download\">Downloads<\/a> page of the Grafana website. Here are the steps you need to follow for the installation of Grafana on openSUSE:<\/p>\n<p>1. First, you will need to download the Grafana open source or enterprise edition from its official website. We will be downloading here the latest version of Grafana 8.4.4.<\/p>\n<p>To download the Grafana OSS edition, run the command below:<\/p>\n<pre>$ wget\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/dl.grafana.com\/oss\/release\/grafana-8.4.4-1.x86_64.rpm\">https:\/\/dl.grafana.com\/oss\/release\/grafana-8.4.4-1.x86_64.rpm<\/a><\/pre>\n<p>To download the Grafana enterprise edition, run the command below:<\/p>\n<pre>$ wget\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/dl.grafana.com\/enterprise\/release\/grafana-enterprise-8.4.4-1.x86_64.rpm\">https:\/\/dl.grafana.com\/enterprise\/release\/grafana-enterprise-8.4.4-1.x86_64.rpm<\/a><\/pre>\n<p>2. Now run this command to install Grafana:<\/p>\n<p>For Grafana OSS:<\/p>\n<pre>$ sudo rpm -i --nodeps grafana-8.4.4-1.x86_64.rpm<\/pre>\n<p>For Grafana Enterprise:<\/p>\n<pre>$ sudo rpm -i --nodeps grafana-enterprise-8.4.4-1.x86_64.rpm<\/pre>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"864\" height=\"185\" class=\"wp-image-16446\" src=\"http:\/\/linuxways.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/word-image-2.png\" srcset=\"https:\/\/linuxways.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/word-image-2.png 864w, https:\/\/linuxways.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/word-image-2-300x64.png 300w, https:\/\/linuxways.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/word-image-2-768x164.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 864px) 100vw, 864px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>3. Once Grafana is installed, you can verify it through the command below:<\/p>\n<pre>$ sudo grafana-server -v<\/pre>\n<p>If you see the version number in the output, it verifies that Grafana is installed. If you have a firewall enabled on your system and want to access Grafana from another system, you will need to open port 3000 in your firewall.<\/p>\n<pre>$ sudo firewall-cmd --permanent --add-port=3000\/tcp<\/pre>\n<pre>$ sudo firewall-cmd \u2013reload<\/pre>\n<h2>Accessing Grafana Dashboard<\/h2>\n<p>To access the Grafana dashboard, point your browser to the following address:<\/p>\n<pre><a href=\"http:\/\/ip-address:3000\">http:\/\/ip-address:3000<\/a><\/pre>\n<p>where ip-address is your system\u2019s IP address where Grafana is running. You will be welcomed with the following login page. Use \u201cadmin\u201d username and password.
