Bootable USB can be useful to either install an OS (Operating System) or to use it in a Live environment, i.e., OS boots in RAM (Random Access Memory) completely from USB and does not require installation on HDD\/SDD.<\/p>\n<p>This article will describe how to install Unetbootin on Debian 12 (Bookworm) systems.<\/p>\n<h2><a id=\"post-20893-_vwi4ezl9toa3\"><\/a>How to Install UNetbootin on Debian 12?<\/h2>\n<p>Unetbootin is a popular tool to create bootable USBs. In the following steps, we are going to learn how we can install UNetbootin on Debian 12 systems.<\/p>\n<h3><a id=\"post-20893-_i7msf044zs6h\"><\/a>Step 1: Download UNetbootin Binary File<\/h3>\n<p>The UNetbootin package is not available in the Debian 12 official repository. A binary file (.bin) is portable to use. Based on our processor architecture, we can select either a 32-bit binary or a 64-bit binary. This will download the binary file (<strong>unetbootin-linux64-702.bin<\/strong>) in the Downloads folder.<\/p>\n<h3><a id=\"post-20893-_7qdrmi322w5i\"><\/a>Step 2: Make Binary File Executable<\/h3>\n<p>In this step, we will make the binary file an executable file. We can use UNetbootin\u2019s tool to create a Bootable Linux USB.<\/p>\n<h2><a id=\"post-20893-_ce7i61xkfgzt\"><\/a>How to Create a Bootable Linux USB?<\/h2>\n<p>There are two ways to create a Linux Bootable USB drive:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>By Selecting Distribution and Version: <\/strong>Linux distribution and version can be chosen by drop-down menus and then the \u201cOK\u201d button can be pressed to download and create a bootable disk of the selected Linux version.<\/li>\n<li><strong>By Disk image (ISO file): <\/strong>ISO file can be downloaded from <a href=\"https:\/\/cdimage.debian.org\/debian-cd\/current-live\/amd64\/iso-hybrid\/\">Official Debian 12 Link<\/a>. This ISO will then be uploaded on UNetbootin and then the \u201cOK\u201d button\u201d can be pressed to download and create a bootable disk of the selected Linux version.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><a id=\"post-20893-_k4r3ojha6hv3\"><\/a>Conclusion<\/h2>\n<p>To download and install the UNetbootin tool on the Debian (Bookworm) system use the <a href=\"https:\/\/unetbootin.github.io\/\">UNetbootin&#8217;s GitHub link<\/a>. UNetbootin is a popular tool to create a Bootable USB drive. Additionally, two methods for creating a bootable USB are also described.
