IP Address can be changed from DHCP (Automatic) to Static (Manual) but it stays the same unless you change it manually again. Execute the steps below to temporarily change your IP Address.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Step 1: Open Terminal<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>To open the terminal in Ubuntu, use any of the GUI or CLI. To use the \u201cifconfig\u201d, check your network interface name. In the Network Details, look for the interface name which might be \u201c<strong>enp0s3<\/strong>\u201d or \u201c<strong>ens33<\/strong>\u201d. In our case it is \u201cens33\u201d:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"826\" height=\"388\" class=\"wp-image-21100\" class=\"sy0\">&gt;<\/span> netmask <span class=\"sy0\">&lt;<\/span>netmask-address<span class=\"sy0\">&gt;<\/span><\/div><\/div>\n<p>Changing the Syntax according to our network configuration, using the subnet address:<\/p>\n<div class=\"codecolorer-container bash blackboard\" style=\"width:100%;\"><div class=\"bash codecolorer\"><span class=\"kw2\">sudo<\/span> <span class=\"kw2\">ifconfig<\/span> ens33 192.168.184.120<span class=\"sy0\">\/<\/span><span class=\"nu0\">24<\/span><\/div><\/div>\n<p>This will change our IP Address to a temporary IP Address of (max-width: 838px) 100vw, 838px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Both the subnet and netmask commands change the IP address.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Step 4: Verify New IP Address<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Verify your new Temporary IP Address after you\u2019ve changed it using the \u201cip addr show\u201d command:<\/p>\n<div class=\"codecolorer-container bash blackboard\" style=\"width:100%;\"><div class=\"bash using the \u201creboot\u201d command or using the GUI to restart.
