But since Valve introduced Steam of Linux back in 2013, gaming on Linux become more easily accessible and it is only improved since then with many popular game developers porting their games to Linux.<\/p>\n<p>For hardcore gamers out there, there is no need to give a separate introduction to Steam. So today, I\u2019m going to guide you to install Steam on Ubuntu 20.04 LTS and setting it up to start playing the game.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Install Steam on Ubuntu 20.04 LTS<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>As mentioned above, I\u2019m using Ubuntu 20.04 LTS to install and use Steam.<\/p>\n<p>First of all, you need to download and install a Steam installer either from Ubuntu Software Center or by running the following command in Linux Terminal.<\/p>\n<pre><strong>$ sudo apt install steam-installer<\/strong><\/pre>\n<p><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1366\" height=\"239\" class=\"wp-image-2148\" src=\"http:\/\/linuxways.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/word-image-674.png\" srcset=\"https:\/\/linuxways.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/word-image-674.png 1366w, https:\/\/linuxways.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/word-image-674-300x52.png 300w, https:\/\/linuxways.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/word-image-674-1024x179.png 1024w, https:\/\/linuxways.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/word-image-674-768x134.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1366px) 100vw, 1366px\" \/><\/strong><\/p>\n<h2>Launch Steam<\/h2>\n<p>Once the installation is complete, head-over to the application menu and search for the Steam icon, open it.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1366\" height=\"262\" class=\"wp-image-2149\" src=\"http:\/\/linuxways.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/word-image-675.png\" srcset=\"https:\/\/linuxways.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/word-image-675.png 1366w, https:\/\/linuxways.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/word-image-675-300x58.png 300w, https:\/\/linuxways.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/word-image-675-1024x196.png 1024w, https:\/\/linuxways.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/word-image-675-768x147.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1366px) 100vw, 1366px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The following window will open-up and you will notice that the actual download of Steam is now started. Once the download is complete, it will automatically install steam on your system. Before that when you login to account, Steam will send a security code to your registered mail, this code will be used to register your device on steam.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1366\" height=\"768\" class=\"wp-image-2152\" src=\"http:\/\/linuxways.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/word-image-678.png\" srcset=\"https:\/\/linuxways.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/word-image-678.png 1366w, https:\/\/linuxways.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/word-image-678-300x169.png 300w, https:\/\/linuxways.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/word-image-678-1024x576.png 1024w, https:\/\/linuxways.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/word-image-678-768x432.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1366px) 100vw, 1366px\" \/><\/p>\n<h2>Use Steam<\/h2>\n<p>On the home page, you will notice there are four tabs; Store, Library, Community, and final is your account.<\/p>\n<p>Under <strong>Store tab<\/strong> you can access all the games available on Steam. Steam icon here means that game is compatible with Linux and can be installed.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1366\" height=\"768\" class=\"wp-image-2154\" src=\"http:\/\/linuxways.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/word-image-680.png\" srcset=\"https:\/\/linuxways.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/word-image-680.png 1366w, https:\/\/linuxways.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/word-image-680-300x169.png 300w, https:\/\/linuxways.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/word-image-680-1024x576.png 1024w, https:\/\/linuxways.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/word-image-680-768x432.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1366px) 100vw, 1366px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Next is <strong>Library Tab, <\/strong>here you will see the list of installed games and current progress of the game you\u2019re downloading.<\/p>\n<p>For example, here I\u2019m going to install Battle of Wesnoth.
