The PDF files not only keep their formatting intact which makes them perfect for printing but they are also highly portable. Therefore, today we will learn with you the methods of saving something as a PDF.
Methods of Saving Something as PDF:
For saving something as PDF, you can use either of the two methods explained below:
Method # 1: By using the File Menu:
For explaining this method, we have created a sample MS Word file. After typing any random text in this MS Word file, click on the “File” tab from the menu bar as highlighted in the following image:
Clicking on this tab will take you to the File menu from where you need to click on the Print tab as highlighted in the image shown below:
From the Print tab, you need to click on the Printer dropdown list as highlighted in the following image:
Now select the “Microsoft Print to PDF” option from this dropdown list and then click on the Print icon as highlighted in the image shown below:
When you will click on this icon, you will be asked to type a name for your new PDF and choose a destination to keep this file. We have named it as SamplePDF. Then click on the Save button as highlighted in the following image:
Doing this will save your MS Word file as a PDF on the chosen destination as shown in the image below:
We have also opened this file to show you that it has been saved as a PDF as shown in the image below:
Method # 2: By using the “Ctrl+ P” Shortcut Combination:
For explaining this method, we will be trying to save a web page as a PDF. However, you can also follow the same procedure for an MS Word document or any other file type as well. For that, we have opened any random web page as shown in the following image:
After you have opened your desired web page, press Ctrl+ P to launch the print window. Select “Microsoft Print to PDF” as your destination and then click on the Print button as highlighted in the image shown below:
Now you will be asked to choose a destination for your PDF and also type in a name for it. After doing that, click on the Save button and your web page will be saved as a PDF.
